The British Soap Awards 2011

The British Soap Awards were held on Saturday (14th) in Manchester & were shown on ITV1 last night (18th). Sadly, Keith missed out on the sexiest male award, which instead went to Eastenders' Scott Maslen (Jack Branning). Our man may not have got the award we felt he deserved but the good news is his soap, Coronation Street walked away with 9 Awards altogether; including Spectacular scene of the year for the tram crash and Best single episode for the live ep.

Keith appeared on 'The Late Late Show' with his wife, Lisa on Friday. They spoke movingly about their daughter, Mia's Autism and as always, did an excellent job of raising awareness of the condition. News of Keith's little mishap from Boyzone.net!

Keith takes stage diving to a hole new level!

It seems that during the gig in Cardiff last night (24th) Keith was so busy rocking out to the end of Hurricane that he got caught up in the moment and stepped backwards just as the main lift in the stage was down. So Keith went straight down the hole!

His shins and his ego are bruised but other than that he is fine. In fact when asked how he was doing in true Duster style he announced;

“Its just a stage I’m going through!”

Keith at Steve Huison's Charity Art Auction

Keith played auctioneer last week (17th Feb) for Corrie co-star and friend, Steve Huison (Eddie Windass) at his art show. Steve was selling off his charcoal portraits of Coronation Street actors for charity. Keith even ended up buying his own portrait, which he hopes to donate to his autism charity to help raise money for them. To watch a short interview with him from the evening, watch the video below.



Boyz reach for runners

Keith and Ronan are going to take part in the 2011 Kleinwort Benson Investors St. Patrick’s 5k Festival Road Race on Sunday 20th March, proceeds from which will go to the Marie Keating Foundation. See the link below for more info.

Keith filmed his final scenes on Coronation Street in December and spoilers for next week suggest that those scenes may be about to air as Ciaran accepts a Three month job on a cruise ship. Wonder what that means for him and Michelle?

Keith takes a break from Corrie to, of course, tour with Boyzone in February and March but in an interview he gave on Radio 2 before Christmas, Keith stated he'd be back at Corrie; June at the earliest, October at the latest. So unless anything changes, it looks as though we'll be seeing him back on those cobbles once more!

It's our first bit of news for 2011, so happy new year to everyone! Hope you all had a good christmas.

Over the festive period, TV3 aired a programme which counted down Ireland's most popular celebrities as voted by the Irish public. Keith came fourth in the poll behind rugby player, Brian O’Driscoll, Gay Byrne and news presenter Anne Doyle.

Keith out and about

The beginning of December has been a busy time for Keith; as well as preparing for the Coronation Street live episode this Thursday, he's been out and about at a few events.

On the 1st December, he and the family went along to see Mikey in his opening performance of Aladdin at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin and on the 4th, the annual Keith Duffy Masquerade Ball in aid of autism took place. Pictures from both these events are in our gallery now...

Inside Soap Survey results

The results of the Inside Soap survey are in already and Keith was picked as the second sexiest male in the history of Coronation Street behind Rob James Collier who played Liam Connor. Not bad for the amount of characters who must have walked the famous cobbles over 50 years!

Corrie's big week...

1st December 2010

Next week is Coronation Street's 50th Anniversary and as well as an explosive set of episodes - which, seeing as Keith's character Ciaran works in the very bar that explodes, he's bound to get caught up in somehow (eek!) - there's other special programming worth keeping an eye on just in case, for glimpses of Keith...

First up on Saturday 5th December is 'Stars on the Street', a documentary about the celebrities who have starred in Corrie. It's a repeat, so I know Keith appears in this, think it must have been filmed in 2008, as if I remember correctly, his hair was longer; like it was in the Love You Anyway' video. Anyway, if you fancy watching that, it's on ITV1 at 5.15pm.

On Monday 6th December, ITV2 is showing 'Coronation Street Uncovered: Live' on the night of the tram crash. It's a behind-the-scenes show which will feature interviews with cast members and we can always watch in the hope Keith may be one of them! Tune in at 10.00pm.

On Tuesday 7th December, the Lorraine Kelly show is coming live and direct from the corrie set, if you're around at 8.30am it may be worth watching just in case he appears on this.
Also on Tuesday, the first part of 'Coronation Street: 50 Years, 50 Moments' is being broadcast on ITV1 at 9.00pm. If it's one of those 'talking heads' type programmes he might be a part of it. Not definite, but again, worth a look just in case. Might be a good programme to watch anyway!

The second part of 'Coronation Street: 50 Years, 50 Moments' is on Thursday 9th December (the night of the live episode - oooh!) again at 9.00pm. If you watch the first, there's no point missing the second, after all you'd miss the all important number one moment! Oh and you never know... glimpses of Keith!
Also that night, the 'Celebrity Juice: Coronation Street Special' is on at 10.00pm on ITV2. As far as I know, he isn't on this but you may want to watch it anyway. Keith's (Ciaran) on screen girlfriend Kym Marsh (Michelle) definitely appears as well as former on screen fiance Shobna Gulati, (Sunita) so at least there's a Keith connection!

Friday 10th December sees Paul O'Grady host 'Coronation Street: The big 50' on ITV1 at 9.00pm; featuring a quiz, musical performances and some surprises. This is the one everyone should watch as Keith is joined by his Boyzone bandmates Ronan & Shane, and corrie castmate Kym Marsh to sing 'No Matter What'.

Magazines

Keith appears in two magazines this week 'Inside Soap' and 'Ok!'

In 'Inside Soap' he features in a special Corrie 50th Anniversary pull out, which, believe me is worth buying for the gorgeous picture alone! There's also a mini interview where he talks about his memories of watching Coronation Street as a youngster, which storyline he liked, the anniversary itself and the live episode.

In 'Ok!' there's a few pictures of him at Simon Gregson's (Corrie's Steve) wedding; mainly small ones but there's one big photo of him with the happy couple and other fellow Coronation Street cast members. I must say he's looking rather lovely in his glasses..
